Choosing
the Right Private Health Cover
There
are a number of schemes available from low cost schemes, offering
limited private health cover, to those companies that offer
wide-ranging cover and benefits. Most of these insurance schemes
offer cover for day-patient and in-patient treatment, but
these companies cannot always offer out-patient treatment.
You have to decide what sort of private health insurance you
want. There are a couple of things you will have to consider.
Do you want your insurance cover to include seeing a specialist
as an out-patient? And do you want to choose a hospital, or
would you be happy to receive any treatment that you might
need in a hospital available from a limited range chosen by
your private health insurance company? The subsequent answers
to these questions could have a major effect on the insurance
premium that you pay.
Treatment for In-patients
This
provides for treatment which, means you have to stay in hospital
overnight or for longer.
Treatment for Day-patients
This
provides treatment that you have to go into a day patient
unit or hospital because you need time for a of clinically-supervised
recovery. But you do not have to stay overnight.
Treatment for Out-patients
This
is treatment at a hospital, consulting room or out-patient
clinic where you do not go in for day-patient or in-patient
treatment.
